Email entering the Lemonade.Net mail servers are processed for spam using several techniques. Obvious spam is deleted and messages suspected of containing spam are tagged in the subject line.
Our first line of defense catches a significant percentage of spam without generating false positives. Messages caught by this URI filter which looks for spam related hyperlinks are deleted at the mail server.
Our second line of defense checks incoming email against blacklists containing addresses of known spammers. These messages are deleted at the mail server.
Next, we scan the subject line of messages for specific phrases included in spam messages. These messsages are deleted at the mail server.
Last, we make several additional checks which might flag good email messages as spam. These messages are tagged in the subject line with [PossibleSpam]. Some good emails will be tagged so you should manually review these messages.
SPAM processing is subject to change as the Spammers continue to seek ways to bypass SPAM checks.
Should you notice good emails not being delivered, please let us know and we will modify the processing as necessary.
Our goal is to eliminate all SPAM while not deleting any good emails.
As always, if you have questions, please email support@lemonade.net
